Your local Labour action team for Belsize
Maddie is a Public Policy student and parliamentary researcher, with a background in equalities campaigning. Working on anti-racism and anti-sexism campaigns got her involved in Labour and she joined the party in 2011, after realizing that they were the only party equipped to deliver the more equal society that she wanted to see. Maddie specializes in housing and cost of living research, and is running to help all those in Belsize who are struggling to make ends meet under the coalition government. She lives just outside the ward and uses many of the same services as Belsize residents, from the post offices to Swiss Cottage leisure center. Maddie feels like everything is closing at the moment, and Belsize needs someone fighting on its behalf!
James has lived in Camden for seven years and, as the father of two young children, has a strong sense of the challenges faced by families in the area and the importance of the services they rely on. He has more than 15 years experience as a campaigner and advocate within the Labour movement, civil society and the media. He has worked across the community in a range of roles including as a school governor, mentor and volunteer at homeless night shelter. If elected, he would work to ensure the future of services for all residents in Belsize, particularly for families and young people.
